     New Update 8/01/2023

My official title at WCSU has changed.   I am now the Theatre Production Coordinator (Technical Director/Shop Supervisor).I am officially full time staff at WCSU and loving it!

08/01/2022:

I am now an Assistant Professor, Technical Director and Shop Supervisor at Western Connecticut State university.  Formerly, I have been the Production Manager/Technical Director at ACT of Connecticut in Ridgefield CT, an adjunct professor at Western Connecticut State University (5 years), Technical Direcor and PAC Manger at RedHook High School, and the Technical Director for Sharon Playhouse in Sharon, CT.

I have been the owner, along with my wife, of In Motion Dance Center in Lagrangeville, NY for the last 30 years.  I am the technical director as well as the designer of the end of year recital.  I have also been a magician for 43 years having performed along the northeast coast, Hersheypark, and in Germany.   I have a varied background that encompasses circus skills (balancing, juggling,), magic, stage combat, krav maga (level 3 practitioner), balloon sculptor, dance, voice, and set design.   I have also been the set designer, technical director, and sometime fight choreographer for Arlington High School in Lagrangeville, NY.

In January of 2013 I returned to school after a 25 year break.   Why the break?  I was a junior at Lehman center for the performing arts in the Bronx and got an opportunity to go to Germany and perform in a show for 6 months.   I promised my parents I would return to school upon the end of my contract.   Well, 25 years later, I fulfilled that promise, and it was one of the best decisions I've made.  WCSU students and faculty welcomed me with open arms and I graduated with my B.A. in Theatre Arts - Performance option in 2014.   Skip to one year later and I joined the adjunct faculty as Technical Director.   Now, with encouragement from colleagues, I completed my MFA in Theatre Arts - Technical Direction at the University of Idaho,  graduated May 2020 .

Please feel free to look around, contact me with questions.

                                Thank you!   Tom
